The flowers are small and purple. They are bunched on one side of a long stem. The leaves are made up of 8 -12 small, pointed leaflets that evenly line the thin, vine-like stem (pinnately compound). Each leaf has a pair of tiny curling vines at the end. They bloom May through August.
