In two performances (K-2 and 3-6), award-winning author, Sheri Amsel will teach students about this unique “Park” in upstate New York and the wild things that live there – mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects, trees and plants. Adapted to enhance elementary curriculum studies of the New York and the Adirondack Region.
This performance features illustrations from Sheri Amsel's books and stunning photos from all over the Park. Students will also get a look at how book illustrations are made from photo reference to book art.
This performance can be followed by several individual classroom visits where each student will illustrate their own Adirondack habitat poster with a step by step lesson by Ms. Amsel
The visit includes a Book Sale and Signing offering several of the author’s books at special educational
prices. All students receive bookmarks.
The cost for a full day program is $750 plus travel expenses. Several area schools can arrange for week long residencies to split travel costs. Please call to arrange a multi-school residency in your district. In NYS, ask about BOCES Funding.
