Habitat

They are found in dry fields and roadsides.

Description

This common roadside wildflower is easily overlooked as its flower is not showy in shape or color and its leaves are a a grayish green. It is one of the many species of clover that finds habitat in waste places.

Taxonomic Features (Traits) for Identification

Flower Type: Irregular flowers in long, dense, furry heads on the end of branches
Flower Color: Grayish-pink or grayish white
Leaf Arrangement: Alternate
Plant Type: Wildflower (Medium - 4-10 inches)
Leaf Type: Divided into 3 narrow, egg-shaped, entire (smooth edged) leaflets covered in silky down.
