When you write about a species there are several key areas you will need to research.
Range: Where the animal is found around the world.
Habitat: In what kind of habitat does the animal live? Describe its home.
Physical Traits: What does the animal look like? Describe its colors, size, special traits.
Habits: How does the animal behave? Is it active day or night? Does it live in the trees or on the ground? What kind of home does it build? Is it territorial? Does it live alone or in a group?
Diet: What does the animal eat?
Predators: Who eats it?
Reproduction: How long is the female pregnant? How many young does she have? How long does she care for them before they are independent? Does she build a nest or den? What kind?
Lifespan: How long can it live in the wild? Find or draw a picture of your animal, label its body parts.
