Habitat

They are found in bogs and wet woods especially in pine forests.

Description

It has one flower. It is a pink, hollow pouch with darker pink veins. It has a bare stem with long, large, leaves attached at the bottom. They bloom May through July. Also called, moccasin flower.

  • Flower Type: Irregular flower
  • Flower Color: Pink to white
  • Leaf Arrangement: Around the base only
  • Plant Type: Wildflower (Medium - 6-8 inches)
  • Leaf Type: Long, narrow and entire (smooth edge)
