They are found in wet, hardwood forests.

Description

The bark is gray and smooth, growing ridges as the tree gets older. The leaves are very large, round, toothed with a pointed end. The flowers are groups (clusters) that hang from a long, leaf-like stalk and grow to a group of tiny, hairy, nut-like balls.
