Fraxinus americana

Habitat

They are found in thick, healthy forests.

Description

The bark is gray with diamond-shaped ridges. The leaves are 8 - 12 inches long, with leaflets growing on each side, down a long stem (pinnately compound). The leaves are dark green above and whitish below. Thin winged seeds (samaras) hang in bunches (clusters).
